Start with the general browser-game checklist, then use the relevant project guide or troubleshooting steps for the stage that actually failed.

Start a browser game with clear expectations

How to play browser games explains what to check before opening an external project: input device, resource downloads, separate data requirements and the meaning of a verification label. The steps are designed to prevent a common mistake: assuming that a familiar game title describes one uniform browser version. The directory connects to independently operated projects, and their features can differ from the original game's release.

Diagnose the stage that failed

Browser-game troubleshooting separates failures into access, download, graphics, input and multiplayer stages. A useful diagnosis begins with an observable symptom. A certificate warning, a moving progress indicator and a mouse-lock error call for different actions. Repeatedly refreshing every problem can restart a large download and erase the information needed to identify the cause. Record the screen text and browser before making changes.

Use a guide for the actual project

The DOOM entry describes the solo menu sequence that reached the game in our check. The BO1 Zombies entry records its observed download and input restriction. QuakeWorld has a multiplayer launch flow rather than a generic single-player tutorial. Skate 3 requires a preparation decision, while the Halo CE launch guide explains its own-copy XISO requirement and the file-selection stage we reached. These pages address the browser project, not an assumed retail feature set.

Know what the first edition has not tested

The tests are limited to the recorded desktop environment and specific interactions. Completing a download is not the same as completing a level. Seeing a multiplayer button is not proof of a working two-person room. A control table should come from the project's interface or a confirmed interaction, rather than memory of another release. We do not provide a complete walkthrough, performance benchmark or device compatibility guarantee for these projects.

Read sources and report a correction

Guides cite the project pages or relevant browser documentation. Visible dates identify when those sources or interactions were checked. Content was prepared with AI assistance, and the editorial policy describes those limits rather than inventing author credentials. A report is most useful when it includes the project URL, browser version, error text and stage reached. Start from the directory again if another project better fits your file availability or input device.
