Mitchell Hynes's Halo CE browser launcher asks for an XISO made from your own Xbox copy. We reached that file-selection screen in desktop Chrome; no disc image was imported and gameplay remains untested.

Use the game address, not the developer homepage

The project entrance redirects within the same site to /halo/halo.html. On October 11, 2026 it displayed a Halo file picker and keyboard mappings. The developer's root homepage is a portfolio, which explained our earlier unresolved record. This follow-up establishes a specific launch screen, so the directory now offers its address and marks the entry Source page checked. It does not turn that observation into a successful gameplay test.

The launch page identifies its build as web-d8ae8a16c2f0367f88b10a00. That is a launcher identifier, not a claim about the version of a retail Halo disc. The page explicitly says it does not provide Halo game data. Owning a different edition does not establish compatibility: the visible requirement is an XISO from an Xbox copy of Halo: Combat Evolved.

Prepare and start

  1. Have an XISO made from your own Xbox copy. This directory supplies no disc images or retail-data downloads.
  2. Open the project entrance and wait for the Choose your Halo XISO panel. If you see the developer portfolio, check that the address includes /halo/.
  3. Select Choose XISO and select your local file. Our check stopped before this step because we did not supply game data.
  4. Follow the project's import or loading feedback. A visible file picker confirms the preparation stage, not that your particular image is supported or a level has loaded.
  5. Once a game scene appears, use Focus game or click the game area to request mouse capture. The page lists Esc for the in-game Start action; browser mouse-capture behavior can also affect Esc.

These steps describe the visible workflow. Import duration, required storage and gameplay performance were not measured in our session. Do not treat the menu's live player counters as evidence that our campaign or multiplayer check succeeded. If loading fails, report whether the failure happened before selection, during import or after a scene appeared.

The table transcribes this project's interface; we have not tested those bindings in a rendered level. Xbox button labels are retained because a generic PC control chart may describe a different Halo edition. Mobile and gamepad operation also remain untested here.

How Halo CE Mobile differs

The separate Halo CE Mobile entry points to HCEMobile, not this launcher. Its own page describes .iso or .xiso import, copying the maps folder into private storage of up to 1.8 GB, and an account for online play. Those are that project's declarations; they should not be transferred to Mitchell Hynes's build. Neither the Mobile name nor a responsive landing page establishes successful touch gameplay in our checks.

Choose a project that fits your files and device

If you do not have compatible Halo data, use the no-game-files shortlist. The DOOM Shareware guide records a solo launch and basic keyboard input; QuakeWorld records an inconclusive client load. They offer different preparation paths and experiences. Read our verification policy and the startup checklist before treating a source-page result as a performance promise.

For a correction, send the exact project URL, build identifier, browser and last visible stage to the contact on About. The troubleshooting guide explains what makes a report useful. Do not send us retail game files or private disc images.
