DOOM Shareware: the solo browser startup we checked
Play DOOM Shareware with Radiant Optimizer Games launch notes for the observed solo menu flow, keyboard input, project sources, and untested multiplayer limits.

The silentspacemarine.com project offers solo and multiplayer entry choices. Our desktop check reached the solo game and exercised keyboard input; multiplayer, touch controls and saving were not verified.
Identify this DOOM browser project
This entry links to the WebSockets Wasm DOOM project. Its source page describes a WebAssembly port and links to a Cloudflare technical article about the multiplayer experiment. That context matters: this is a particular browser implementation, not a claim that every edition or expansion of DOOM is included. The loaded document identified itself as DOOM Shareware. The solo observation does not establish what a multiplayer server currently supports.
Use the solo launch sequence
- Open the source page and select Play Solo rather than Start Multiplayer.
- Wait for the canvas to appear and read the input hint displayed beneath it.
- Use the game menus to start a new game, choose the available episode and select a difficulty.
- Confirm that a level renders, then test basic keyboard response before continuing.
Our interaction check entered the first level after menu navigation. The episode menu showed additional episode names, but a menu listing does not establish that their data is playable in a shareware build. We did not test them. There was no request to supply a separate game-data set in this solo flow.
Read the implementation's input hint
The source canvas displayed a movement hint naming mouse input, WSOP or arrow keys, Shift for running, E for use, and AD for strafing or holding C. That is the wording observed on this project, and it differs from assuming a modern FPS layout. Our check used Enter to navigate the menus and arrow-key input in the rendered game. We have not verified every listed binding, rebinding, controllers or a full combat encounter. Read the current hint again when opening the project because deployments can change.
Separate multiplayer and phone support
The initial page includes Start Multiplayer, but our test followed Play Solo. We have not confirmed room creation, two-player interaction or current server uptime. The source also displays a note about hiding a mobile browser toolbar; that note alone does not establish usable touch controls. Desktop rendering and keyboard response should not be advertised as a mobile gameplay test. If you need those features, verify them in the actual project before relying on this listing.
If the solo startup fails
Record whether the entry buttons appeared, whether the canvas rendered and whether a game menu responded. A graphics or resource problem is different from selecting an unavailable episode. Use browser troubleshooting for the failing stage, or the startup checklist when preparing another project. Browser loads can retrieve sizeable resources even though no installer is involved. This directory does not distribute WAD files or other game data.
Sources, dates and related projects
The source page, visible shareware title, solo menus and basic keyboard interaction were checked on October 11, 2026 in desktop Chrome. No campaign completion, performance benchmark or save-persistence claim is made. QuakeWorld provides another shooter lead with a different loading result; the no-install collection offers broader options. See our editorial policy for corrections and the difference between an input check and a comprehensive review.
